REZONING UPDATE & NEXT STEPS
Many of you showed up and spoke out with compelling, heartfelt opposition to the Nations Rezoning and Urban Design Overlay (UDO) proposal at the Metro City Council meeting on Tuesday. We had a strong turnout, and your voices were clear, informed, and passionate, but despite our efforts, the council unfortunately voted to advance the proposal to a third and final reading.

But the fight is not over. The final vote will take place on Tuesday, August 19, and we must continue to build momentum. This is our last chance to influence the outcome, and every action matters!
Here are THREE things you can do to help RIGHT NOW:
1. Send Emails to City Council Members
We need to flood their inboxes with respectful, clear messages from residents opposing this bill. Councilmember Rollin Horton said during Tuesday’s hearing that he is open to more conversations and possible amendments before the final vote—but we must hold him to that. Let them know that this plan does not reflect the will of the people in District 20.

2. Sign the Petition
We’ve already gathered over 500 signatures. Help us grow this number to show how many neighbors oppose this bill. Every name counts.
3. Share Your Views in a Community Survey
This quick survey gives you the chance to share what specific aspects of the rezoning and UDO proposal you agree or disagree with. Because no comprehensive outreach or survey was conducted by Councilmember Horton, we’re collecting this data ourselves to present to the Council.
